ATTN: Trail Riders.
A 200 yard section of the Black Dragon Trail (1/4 mile above the bridge over Ferron Creek) was DESTROYED by a flash flood this week. It is impassable and will remain that way for quite some time. If you plan to access Joe's Valley, Horn Mountain, or the Kitchen, YOU'LL NEED A DIFFERENT ROUTE. The damage was discovered by Don Keele while on his way to install signs on the Kitchen Trail.
Be sure to attend our Club meeting on August 6 at 7:00 P.M. at the courthouse in Castle Dale. Emery County Commissioner Laurie Pitchforth will be our guest and will let us know her feelings on some of the issues concerning the county. If you have questions, now is the time to ask them. We hope to have other local candidates at future membership meetings.
August Club Ride- Reeder Canyon
The club ride for August will be held on the 16th. It will be a great time with a breakfast for the riders to be held before the ride. Meet at the overflow parking and camping spot on the west side of Joe's Valley Reservoir for breakfast at 8:00 A.M. The ride will begin at 9:00 A.M. Bring your own lunch and ride around the loop up Reeder and down by Potter's Pond, and through Spoon Creek.
The Jamboree is quickly approaching. It will be held September 1st through 5th. If you would like to participate or help in any way, contact Mark H. at 435-381-2493 or 435-749-1600. We have some awesome raffle prizes this year. You can see the 4-wheelers at Gilly's in Ferron. We also have plenty of raffle tickets that need to be sold. We are requesting all Club members to help out. To buy tickets or to get some to sell, contact Mark H. or Annette at 435-384-2690.
Remember to pick up garbage along the trails on all your rides.
Keep our trails clean, enjoyable, and open.
