August 2007 News
Our July ride was from the Gooseberry trailhead. We rode 60 miles, part of it on the Great Western Trail.
It was a hot day, and the trail was very, very dusty, but the scenery was beautiful: with lots of gorgeous wild flowers.
We had fun. There were 12 riders on 11 bikes. The day started out a little rough for Bert and Mary Bentley:
flat tire, bike keys left at home, and to top it off, a runaway tire on his bike trailer. A hearty
thank you to Glenys for being a terrific guide and showing us some beautiful country.
The ride for August is going to be a great road trip
on August 11! We will meet at Hoover's rest area just south of Big Rock Candy Mountain which is south of I-70 in Sevier County, and a few miles north of Marysvale on Highway 89. We will meet at 9:30 A.M. The ride will proceed up Deer Creek canyon, loop to Fremont State Park, then up and across to Kimberly and come down through Marysvale. It will then proceed across the old railroad grade and stop at the Silver King Mine. It promises to be a great ride and lots of fun, so come out and be prepared for a super ride with great people and great scenery.
